 Polish President Dies In Plane Crash

| Quote: | Poland’s president Lech Kaczynski has died along with all other passengers on board a plane that crashed in Western Russia, Polish radio reported Saturday, April 10, citing Russian officials.
The accident happened near the airport of Smolensk, where the president and his wife Maria were to participate in commemorations for thousands of Polish officiers who were killed by Soviet forces during World War Two in what became known as the 'Katyn Massacre'.
There were 132 passengers on board and Polish radio quoted the governor of Smolensk as saying that "nobody on board survived the crash." |
